Integrating artificial intelligence applications
In recent years, Lao Dong Newspaper has always operated in accordance with its principles and purposes, maintaining its No. 1 position in protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Not only outstanding in content, the newspaper has also achieved many impressive achievements, from 2021 to present, winning 166 press awards, including 106 domestic awards and 60 international photo awards. For two consecutive years, Lao Dong Newspaper has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Propaganda Department for its outstanding achievements in propaganda work.
Along with improving the quality of content, Lao Dong Newspaper focuses on applying science and technology, promoting digital transformation in all activities of the newsroom. The newspaper was highly appreciated by the Ministry of Information and Communications for its digital transformation, ranked 3rd out of more than 800 press agencies nationwide in 2023 and leading the Central Press agencies in 2024.
In 2024, Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper will launch an English version - a big step forward in international media integration. This product applies artificial intelligence (AI) in localization, designed and operated by the Newspaper's Information Technology Department.
From March 2025, Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to deploy the upgrade of the multilingual interface and build a new, modern and flexible content management system (CMS) in the district secretary's authority. At the same time, the newspaper integrates AI applications for editing, especially AI translated into 5 languages (English, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French) and Online Legal virtual assistant (chatbot) - a tool to support workers to look up policies, benefits, and legal regimes quickly and accurately.
Lao Dong Newspaper is also creative in propaganda. A typical example is the Literary Writing Contest on the theme of workers and trade unions, attracting nearly 500 entries, vividly depicting the image of workers and trade union officials through novels and short stories. This is a new, humane way of doing things and has a wide influence, contributing to honoring the value of labor in modern society.
Building a streamlined, professional team, adapting to the digital age
Lao Dong Newspaper is also assigned to build and operate the Vietnam Trade Union Electronic Information Portal. However, the unit has proactively streamlined the apparatus in an effective and flexible manner. By September 2025, the Newspaper had reduced 5 department-level units (reaching a rate of 71.4%) and stopped the operation of 2 department-level units (nearly 10%) compared to the end of 2024, thereby optimizing human resources and organizational structure. Lao Dong Newspaper fully implements policies and regimes for cadres, civil servants, and workers; On average, each year, it sends 20-30 cadres to participate in professional, technical, and political training courses, helping the press team always update their knowledge and catch up with new trends in modern journalism.
