Many social housing projects are about to be completed
In Long Hung ward, the social housing project has an area of 1.41 hectares, with a scale of about 1,000 apartments - equivalent to a population of about 1,900 people, built on Nguyen Van To street, located close to National Highway 51. This project is expected to be completed and handed over in the third quarter of 2026, most of the products in this project are for low-income people and workers working in industrial parks.
In Phuoc Tan ward, the social housing project has a scale of 1,500 apartments (including 5 blocks). Up to now, block 1 with 256 apartments has been completed, there are model houses and it is expected to hand over the entire house to buyers by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, block 2, with a scale of nearly 480 apartments, will start construction in 2025.
The remaining blocks will be built further following market demand. The expected selling price is nearly 20 million VND/m2. Buyers are allowed to use the apartment to mortgage a bank loan, with a preferential interest rate of 5.9%/year if signing a loan contract and disbursing in 2025.
Approving the investment policy of 10 social housing projects
Meanwhile, apartment building No. 5 (block CC5) with 98 apartments belonging to the Housing Development Project at Bau Xeo Industrial Park Service Center (Trang Bom commune) has been accepted by the Department of Construction for use. Block CC4 is expected to start construction on August 19, 2025, with a scale of 75 apartments and an area of 45-63m2/apartment. According to the plan, the total construction time is 330 days, expected to be completed in July 2026.
This is a housing project implemented in an industrial park to meet the housing needs of workers and laborers working inside and outside state agencies and people in need of social housing.
Mr. Phan Trong Dat - Head of Investment and Business Department - Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company - said that according to State regulations, the selling price of worker apartments, the company only calculates a profit of 10% of the cost, the company tries to save to reduce business management costs and sales costs so that the apartment building reaches the workers at the best price. The project investor representative informed that previously, the project's home buyers were only limited to workers working in industrial parks. However, according to current regulations, there are more than 10 groups of subjects allowed to buy social housing in this project.
In July 2025, the Department of Construction also publicly announced documents approving the investment policy for 10 social housing construction investment projects including social housing areas chC1 and chC2 in Phuoc Tan ward; social housing in Tam Hiep ward; social housing in apartment land in Long Binh ward resettlement area; social housing apartment in 2.1ha land in Phuoc An commune; social housing apartment in 3.7ha land in Phuoc An commune; social housing in land area of about 3.5ha in Trang Bom commune; social housing in 2.8ha land in Ho Nai ward; social housing in Tan Trieu ward; An Phuoc social housing apartment in An Phuoc commune and the Binh Phuoc social housing project in Thai Phuoc commune.
The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Dong Nai province (old) have issued resolutions and plans with the goal of building 10,000 units by 2025 and at least 50,000 social housing units by 2030. The old Binh Phuoc province also issued a project and decision with the goal of developing social housing in the 2021-2025 period to accommodate about 44,000 people, and by 2030, accommodate about 133,000 people.
