The Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor, in coordination with the National Assembly Delegation, has just organized a meeting with voters, union members, workers and laborers. This is a voter meeting activity to prepare for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of Dien Bien province and over 200 union members, workers and laborers.
At the meeting with voters, National Assembly Deputy Quang Thi Nguyet informed voters about the expected time, program and content of the upcoming 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly. The focus will be mainly on the 3 drafts of the Trade Union Law (amended), the Employment Law (amended) and the Teachers Law.
There were 24 opinions and recommendations from union members, workers and laborers sent to National Assembly deputies, of which 7 opinions were related to the Trade Union Law (amended) and 8 opinions were related to the Employment Law (amended).
The opinions and recommendations mainly focus on resolving the policy of recruiting union officials, in order to attract experienced union officials who have grown up from the grassroots.
Giving her opinion, Ms. Luu Thi Ngoc - representative of the Department of Industry and Trade's grassroots union proposed to increase the unemployment benefit from 60% to 75% to ensure the lives of workers after losing their jobs or becoming unemployed.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong - Chairman of the Labor Federation of Dien Bien Dong district also said that many places have many union members and workers but the number of union officials is arranged in a "leveling" manner like the areas with few union members and workers. He proposed that the National Assembly consider regulating a suitable payroll management mechanism in the Trade Union Law (amended).
On behalf of the National Assembly Delegation of Dien Bien Province, Ms. Lo Thi Luyen - Deputy Head of the Delegation - acknowledged and highly appreciated the opinions and recommendations of union members, workers and laborers. The National Assembly Delegation received the opinions and recommendations of voters and synthesized them to send to competent authorities and the National Assembly for consideration.
On this occasion, National Assembly deputies and leaders of Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation presented 200 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
