In many industrial parks, reproductive health issues have not received due attention from women. Due to the nature of the job, limited time and shy mentality, many female workers only go to the doctor when they show signs of serious illness. Meanwhile, regular examinations, especially in-depth examinations, help detect and promptly treat dangerous diseases.
Based on this reality, the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor has coordinated with the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to deploy the model "Your Health", focusing on consultation and reproductive health check-ups for female workers. After 5 years of implementation, the program has achieved many positive results, both in scale and quality, becoming a reliable support for female union members.
In 2025, the program will continue to be organized in enterprises with a large number of female employees, such as Jia Zhi Company Limited, Soc Trang Branch. The highlight this year is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to the examination process, supporting early diagnosis with higher accuracy.
Thanks to the close coordination between Trade Unions at all levels and business leaders, the program was organized flexibly, creating conditions for 120 female workers to participate in examinations without affecting production activities. This is a clear demonstration of the effort to balance employee rights and business efficiency.
Worker Thach Thi Linh shared: Before, I only went to the doctor when I had problems. This time being given the opportunity for an in-depth examination, I find it very necessary to protect my health in the long term".
According to Ms. Do Thi Hoa - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Jia Zhi Company Limited, Soc Trang Branch, the program detected 16 cases with signs of disease related to reproductive health. This is a very meaningful result, helping women promptly treat, limiting costs and future effects. She affirmed that she will continue to coordinate to organize more practical activities to care for female workers.
Not only focusing on reproductive health, the Provincial Federation of Labor also cares about the role of mothers of female workers. Responding to Workers' Month 2025, the Trade Union organized a thematic activity "Nurturing children in the first 1,000 days of life", attracting a large number of pregnant and child-rearing female workers to participate.
Ms. Thach Thu Hanh - a worker at Vietnam Clean Seafood Joint Stock Company said: "Before, I often took care of my child according to relatives and disjointed information. Thanks to the activity, I understand better how to feed my children, prevent malnutrition and build a reasonable diet".
Ms. Trinh Thi Bao Khuyen - Vice President of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor - shared: "Through nutritional examination and consultation programs, we hope to raise awareness and encourage female workers to proactively take care of their health and that of their families. This is an important factor to maintain labor productivity and quality of life".
Ms. Khuyen also emphasized that health care activities for female union members are an indispensable part of the 2025 Workers' Month event series.
Not only does it demonstrate the responsibility of the Trade Union organization in protecting the rights of employees, it is also a testament to understanding and sharing with women who play an important role in building families and contributing to the development of social human resources.
