At the conference, delegates were trained and informed about new contents of the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Charter. Accordingly, the XIII Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union consists of 11 chapters with 45 articles, an increase of 10 articles compared to the XII Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The Charter has a number of new contents, demonstrating the spirit of innovation in thinking, innovation in organization and methods of trade union activities such as adding basic issues about union members; clearly defining the subjects and conditions for joining Vietnam Trade Union; adding conditions for employees at the time of writing the application to join Vietnam Trade Union to ensure the principle that one employee only participates in one representative organization of employees.
The charter also added a system of trade union officials to build a standard, quality and qualified trade union cadres, qualified and prestigious, meeting the requirements of the worker movement and trade union activities in the new situation. Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong Labor Union Nguyen Van Phiet suggested that the Trade Union level and trade union officials fully aware of the role and meaning of the Charter. Since then, proactively developing a plan to propagate and disseminate the charter to each cadre and union members; organize the implementation of the flexible charter, in accordance with the characteristics of the units and localities but still ensure uniformity in principle of organization and operation.
