Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau - Head of the Propaganda and Support Department for Social Insurance participants in Hanoi City said that, implementing the direction of Vietnam Social Insurance on the Social Insurance agency directly transferring monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments through personal accounts to beneficiaries on the 2nd of each month.
If the 2nd falls on a holiday, the payment schedule will start from the first working day after the holiday. For those who receive pensions and social insurance benefits in cash, the Social Insurance agency will coordinate with the Post Office to pay after the payment date via personal accounts.
Regarding the activity of paying pensions and social insurance benefits to beneficiaries in the capital in August 2025, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau said: "The first working day of August 2025 is the 4th (the 2nd), so the Social Insurance agency plans to pay beneficiaries through personal accounts on August 4, pay in cash to nearly 6,000 people, then the Social Insurance agency will coordinate with the Post Office to develop a timely payment plan for beneficiaries after August 4".
It is known that currently, Hanoi Social Insurance has directly paid pensions and social insurance benefits to people.
Of which, payment by transfer to personal accounts is over 99.4% of the total number of people received on the first working day of each month and nearly 6,000 people receiving cash will be paid by Hanoi Social Insurance in coordination with the Post Office after the first working day of each month...
Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau added that in order for the payment of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits to continue to go smoothly, ensuring the smooth rights of beneficiaries when operating the two-level local government and in accordance with the provisions of the Social Insurance Law No. 41/2024/QH15 (Sharing Law 2024) effective from July 1, 2024, Hanoi Social Insurance recommends that beneficiaries pay attention to some changes in the authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits as follows:
- Regarding the authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits: In cases of authorization to receive pensions and social insurance benefits and other regimes, the authorization document is valid for a maximum of 12 months from the date of authorization; The authorization document must be certified in accordance with the provisions of law on certification.
For the authorization granted under the provisions of Law No. 58/2014/QH13 ( social insurance law 2014), the implementation period is until June 30, 2025. After July 1, 2025, beneficiaries must re-establish authorization or carry out certification procedures in a timely manner so as not to interrupt the receipt of monthly pension and social insurance benefits.
- Every year, beneficiaries of social insurance regimes through personal accounts opened at banks are responsible for coordinating with social insurance agencies or service organizations authorized by social insurance agencies to verify information that is eligible for social insurance regimes according to regulations.
Currently, the entire Vietnam Social Insurance System pays about 3.4 million people receiving monthly pensions and social insurance benefits. During the payment period in July 2025, the Social Insurance agency directly paid through personal accounts to about 81% of pensioners and monthly social insurance benefits nationwide. In addition, beneficiaries can receive money by other flexible payment methods such as: Cash at payment points or payment at home (for cases of old age, loneliness, illness, disease and inability to come to the payment point).
