On the morning of December 13, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation organized a delegation to offer incense and flowers at the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Area (Cam Lam Commune, Khanh Hoa Province).
At the "Those who lie on the horizon" monument area, leading the delegation, Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed to protect the integrity of the sovereignty of the Fatherland.
The delegation also observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the battle to protect Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands.
At the same time, incense was offered at the wind tomb in the names of 64 heroic martyrs who died in the battle of Gu Ma.
This is the first activity in a series of programs towards the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030, which will be held in Nha Trang from December 14-15, 2025.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Liem, the Congress took place in a special context, after merging provinces and trade unions to operate under a new model.
The Congress has the theme "Innovating trade union methods of operation; focusing on performing well the task of representing and protecting the rights of workers; participating in building a modern and strong working class, contributing to realizing the goal of building Khanh Hoa province into a centrally-run city".
The Congress is responsible for summarizing, reviewing, objectively and comprehensively evaluating the results achieved, shortcomings, limitations and drawing lessons in the process of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Khanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union Congress.
At the Congress, delegates focused on determining the direction, goals and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, in order to build an increasingly strong Trade Union organization, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development targets.
At the same time, elected the Executive Committee, Inspection Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation for the 2025-2030 term; elected a delegation to attend the Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
The Congress is an important milestone, affirming the determination of the Trade Union to strongly innovate to meet the development requirements in the new period.
From July 1, 2025, Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation will reorganize its organizational structure with 2 committees: the Trade Union Working Committee and the Industrial Park Trade Union Committee. With a total of 24 civil servants, directly managing 922 grassroots unions and 91,311 union members/113,486 employees.
The special anniversary of the Guo Ma Soldier was built by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor with the contributions of union members, workers, people and overseas Vietnamese nationwide.
Inaugurated in July 2017, the project has since "million hearts" welcomed hundreds of thousands of relatives, union officials, union members, people, tourists... to offer incense and return to the source for daily activities.
After the arrangement, the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Area will continue to be managed by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation.
