Mr. Ngo Anh Duyet - Chairman of Nha Trang City Labor Federation (Khanh Hoa) has more than 15 years of experience in Trade Union work, affirming that the Trade Union Law (amended) is an important step forward, creating a solid legal basis for Trade Union organizations to promote their role in caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers in the new context.
In particular, the regulation on maintaining a 2% budget ensures stable resources for the Union to organize activities to protect legitimate and legal rights and interests as well as to take care of welfare such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month" and support union members and workers in difficulty... At the same time, this is also the basis for improving the quality of representation, effectively competing with new workers' representative organizations, thereby strengthening the trust and attachment of workers to the Union.
The new regulation on the right to proactively supervise helps the Trade Union increase its effectiveness in inspecting and supervising the implementation of labor laws, promptly detecting and preventing violations, and better protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees. This is a necessary step, affirming the real role of the Trade Union in representing the voice of employees in the workplace.
“The amendments to the Trade Union Law this time are not only highly practical but also demonstrate the companionship, protection of workers and support for businesses in all circumstances. I believe that this will be an important stepping stone for the Trade Union to develop more strongly in the future,” Mr. Duyet emphasized.
Following the changes in the Trade Union Law (amended), Mr. Nguyen Thai Vu - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Hyundai-Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. excitedly said that with more than 3,000 union members, the Law's continued maintenance of the 2% trade union fund is completely correct, in line with the current and future operations of the Trade Union. In fact, this source of funding is mainly used at the grassroots trade union to take care of the lives of union members and employees.
Mr. Vu and many workers are interested in a very new and very open point in this revision of the Trade Union Law, which is the regulation that foreign workers working in units employing laborers in Vietnam have the right to join and operate in the Vietnam Trade Union. This regulation will meet the requirements for implementing Vietnam's international commitments on labor and trade unions, contributing to strengthening the role of the Vietnam Trade Union, helping the Trade Union to grow stronger in the context of international integration, firmly entering the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
