Bring joy to workers
Early in the morning of January 20, teacher Tran Thi Dieu Nhon - a teacher at Hai Thuong Kindergarten (Hai Lang District, Quang Tri Province) and other workers boarded a car prepared by the Hai Lang District Labor Federation. The car headed to Dong Ha City (Quang Tri Province), where the 2025 Tet Sum Vay program was held.
Upon arrival, Ms. Dieu Nhon was warmly welcomed and taken to a banquet table with a sign of the Hai Lang District Labor Federation. On the table, there were jams, melon seeds, cakes, and especially a fresh rose, so she felt comfortable.
In July 2024, Ms. Dieu Nhon discovered that she had cancer. After a period of treatment, her hair fell out and she had to wear a hat. At the time of her illness, she was on the lower floor of the hospital, while on the upper floor, her relative was also being treated but did not survive. Ms. Dieu Nhon collapsed, but thanks to the encouragement of her family and colleagues, she calmed down and tried to treat the disease.
On this occasion of Tet, Ms. Dieu Nhon received the attention and encouragement of the school board where she works. In addition, the school's parents' association also came to visit and encourage her, and today she was picked up and taken to the Tet reunion venue, which made her feel more cared for and happier.
At the Tet Sum Vay program, the leader of the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation visited the table to visit, encourage and then personally handed a gift of 1.3 million VND to Ms. Dieu Nhon.
“When I got sick, I felt depressed, everything was broken and I just wanted to withdraw into myself, not wanting to interact with anyone. But now, my mentality is stable, today I can attend the Tet Sum Vay program, I am very happy, I feel empowered and need to try harder” - Ms. Dieu Nhon shared.
Similarly, Mr. Dao Xuan Huu, a worker at Minh Hung Quang Tri Joint Stock Company, also received a gift. He shared that this gift is a great source of motivation, helping his family to prepare for Tet more fully, especially when the family's economic conditions are still difficult.
Focus on workers with practical programs
At the program, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor presented 200 Tet gifts, each worth 1.3 million VND, including 1 million VND in cash and a gift worth 300,000 VND. In addition, the program also organized an exchange and lucky draw with dozens of valuable gifts, the largest of which was a refrigerator worth 10 million VND.
The Tet Sum Vay program does not stop at material gifts, but also contains emotions, touching the hearts of the participants. In the context of the economy still recovering slowly after the pandemic, the gifts given contribute to creating a connection between employees and employers with the Trade Union Organization.
Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor shared that on the occasion of this Lunar New Year, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor has organized many programs to care for union members and workers. Of which, it will support more than 3,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 1.5 billion VND. The Provincial Federation of Labor has also allocated 2,060 free shopping vouchers for union members and workers to participate in the online "2025 Trade Union Tet Market" of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, with a total cost of over 1 billion VND.
