On March 27, the Trade Union of Can Tho Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks held a conference to review the activities of the Trade Union in the first quarter and deploy tasks for the second quarter of 2025, signing a union member welfare program.
After the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025, workers at enterprises in industrial parks returned to work, reaching over 95%. The production situation of enterprises in the area is maintained stably. Many businesses have had orders, expanded production and recruited more workers right at the time of Tet. Labor migration after Tet has not fluctuated much.
Activities to care for union members and workers (Union, Labor) are carried out in many diverse forms. Accordingly, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the Trade Union of Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks presented 3,794 gifts and necessities to union members and workers in difficult circumstances from the Party and State, the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the Trade Union of Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks, ... with a total support value of over 1.7 billion VND.
By the first quarter of 2025, the Trade Union of the Zone had mobilized the Trade Union to participate in the Golden Heart Fund of Can Tho Trade Union with the collected amount of VND 16,628,000 and organized the handover of 1 Trade Union Shelter in 2024.
Regarding organization, the number of union members increased from 26,851 to 29,233 union members. The number of union members increased in the quarter by 2,382/7,500, according to the assigned target of 31.76%. Propaganda, women's work, finance, and inspection work have been effectively implemented....
At the conference, representatives of grassroots trade unions under the Trade Union of the zone shared the advantages and difficulties as well as contributed opinions to improve the quality of trade union activities in the coming time.
Speaking at the conference, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved in the activities of the Trade Union of the Zone Trade Union.
To effectively implement the tasks in the second quarter of 2025, the Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation suggested that the Zone Labor Union should focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; continue to pay attention to and perform well the function of representing and caring for union members and workers, affirming the role and position of the Trade Union organization; mobilize and mobilize workers to participate in initiatives, inventions, and improvements in the production line at enterprises; carefully prepare for activities in response to Workers' Month, etc.
