Practical care, towards workers
Taking place from mid-April 2025, this year's Workers' Month in the North Central provinces (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue City) will be organized synchronously, on a large scale and in line with the actual needs of workers. Hundreds of grassroots activities have contributed to creating a vibrant atmosphere, improving material and spiritual life and creating cohesion between employees and the Trade Union organization.
In Nghe An, the launching ceremony of the 2025 Workers' Month at the North Central region level was held on April 27, attracting more than 1,000 workers to attend. On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 27 "Union Shelters" worth 1.35 billion VND, presented 107 gifts, and organized free health check-ups for more than 400 employees. The folk dance performance of 1,000 workers also created an impressive highlight of the solidarity and spread the positive spirit among workers.
In Thanh Hoa, more than 100 Trade Union Shelters were built with a total cost of over 4 billion VND. The Provincial Federation of Labor also coordinated to present hundreds of savings books, organize vocational competitions, sports festivals, seminars and "Thank you to workers" programs at many enterprises.
In Ha Tinh, the model of listening to workers' feedback and recommendations has been widely deployed, contributing to the handling of nearly 40 recommendations related to housing, clean water, kindergartens and living conditions in industrial parks. More than 1,500 workers receive free medical examinations; many legal consultation and child support activities for union members are widely deployed.
In Quang Binh (old), trade unions at all levels spent more than 5 billion VND on Workers' Month activities, including 45 "Union Shelters", nearly 2,000 gifts and cultural and sports activities attracting a large number of workers to participate.
In Quang Tri (old), the Provincial Federation of Labor supported the construction of 28 houses (worth over 1.1 billion VND), organized 3 training courses on collective bargaining skills for more than 100 grassroots union officials, presented 4,215 Union Meals and mobilized blood donation to collect 300 units of blood. PC Quang Tri Trade Union also visited and supported 15 workers and their relatives with serious illnesses.
In Hue City, the launching ceremony of Workers' Month took place at the Hue City Labor Culture House on April 26, starting a series of comprehensive care activities. In the first 6 months of the year, Hue City's trade unions at all levels have taken care of nearly 90,000 union members and employees with a total budget of over 30 billion VND. Many new support models have been deployed such as low-cost booths, giving medical examination cards, and linking benefits from businesses to workers.
Shifting from administration to action
One of the highlights of this year's Workers' Month is the innovation in the form of approach and care.
In Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Hue City, the model of "Union Welfare Festival" continues to be effective. Dozens of businesses have accompanied the supply of essential goods at preferential prices, organized a zero-dong market, supported medical examination, and distributed free medicine at businesses and accommodation areas.
Along with that, many localities also focus on applying technology in organizing activities: Online demand survey, using union member management software, livestreaming legal consultation sessions, introducing social insurance and health insurance policies... The form of digital communication has helped trade unions get closer to young workers.
Quang Tri Labor Federation also focuses on training collective bargaining skills, aiming to improve the quality of labor agreements in small and medium-sized enterprises. Trade unions in Hue City launch emulation movement "Good workers - Strong trade unions"...
Workers' Month in 2025 does not stop at giving gifts or organizing events, but has gradually affirmed the change in the thinking of the Trade Union organization - from administration to action, from "making movements" to "caring for workers".
With hundreds of practical and humane activities, Workers' Month 2025 has spread the message "Union for Workers" to every factory, industrial park and workers' roof.
With the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering in entering a new era", Workers' Month 2025 continues to affirm the historical role and great contribution of the working class in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.
