According to statistics from the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union, female union members in industrial zones account for 53.7% of the total union members. This force is always given priority by businesses with many special policies and benefits.

Many privileges for "pregnant women" at the factory

As the enterprise with the largest number of employees in Hai Phong City, Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Industrial Park) has nearly 23,000 female employees (accounting for 66% of the total). Therefore, the company also has many policies for female employees such as female employees who are pregnant from week 26 or more are given a 1-hour reduction (with full salary), do not have to work at night, work overtime, or work away.

Female workers with children under 12 months old are given 60 minutes of rest per day and are assigned to lighter tasks... The company also arranged 11 milking rooms, installed milking equipment and tools in the factory cafeterias...

At LG Display Co., Ltd., in the 2024 collective labor agreement with 10 chapters and 22 articles, the company dedicates 1 chapter to female workers. In chapter 6 of the agreement, pregnant female workers will receive a maternity badge to distinguish them from other workers, along with special privileges such as not having to queue at all locations in the factory such as the entrance and cafeteria, not having to go through the magnetic detection door for security checks, and being able to use the elevator when moving.

In addition to main meals and snacks, pregnant female workers are provided with an additional box of milk in each meal throughout their entire pregnancy... In case female workers take maternity leave (with a doctor's prescription), they will receive 60% of their basic salary at the time of leave...

Or at Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd., female employees who are pregnant until the 6th month are entitled to 2 hours off/month at the medical room (with full salary); from the 7th month of pregnancy onwards, they are entitled to 5 hours off/month at the medical room...

Create an equal working environment for female workers

In addition to the policy of giving priority to female workers, in the collective labor agreement, Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. also commits to treat men and women equally in job arrangement, salary payment, salary increase, promotion, ensuring fairness according to the actual capacity of employees; no violence, sexual harassment against female workers...

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Chairman of the Company's Trade Union said - the company has 2/3 female employees, so policies for female employees are also prioritized in the collective labor agreement. These contents all received high consensus from employees, meeting the thoughts, aspirations and expectations of nearly 5,000 union members and employees at all 3 factories in Hai Phong, Thai Binh and Quang Ninh.

With the goal of creating a safe and equal working environment for female employees, Maple Company Limited also established a core group on gender equality, set up a 24/7 hotline, ready to listen and support employees when they encounter problems of sexual harassment and gender inequality. Along with that, set up a "Shine Confidently" sharing corner in the cafeteria area with many documents promoting gender equality for employees to find information or receive timely advice and answers.

Ms. Bui Thi Phuong Loan - Vice President of Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union - said that by the end of September, 248 units organized activities to care for female workers such as propaganda on reproductive health care, female labor policies, prevention of domestic violence; meetings, seminars, exchanges; flower arrangements, cooking competitions, cultural exchanges, gift giving... for 86,626 female workers with a total cost of over 6.5 billion VND.

250/335 enterprises are eligible to sign collective labor agreements, accounting for 74.6%. The agreements all have many provisions specifically for female workers with priority regimes. Thereby, the lives, jobs, and welfare regimes of female workers are improved, helping workers feel secure in their work, stick with their jobs, and build a happy and progressive family life.
