Can Tho invests more than 18.4 billion VND to build an IoT Platform

Can Tho - Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a Decision approving the investment policy for the project "Deploying the IoT Platform".

This project is invested by the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho, implemented in the period 2026 – 2027, with a total budget of more than 18.4 billion VND from the local budget.

The goal of Can Tho City People's Committee is to build a unified, modern and expanded loT platform throughout Can Tho City, serving the goal of smart city development, improving the management, supervision and administration capacity of local authorities.

Through the application of loT technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analysis (Big Data), this project aims to optimize urban activities such as traffic, lighting, resource management, environmental protection and security and order.

Moreover, this also contributes to improving the capacity to monitor, forecast and respond to climate change, promoting urban development planning towards green - sustainable - safe - adapting to new challenges in the environment and urban population.

It is known that the IoT Platform system is installed at the Smart Monitoring and Operation Center of Can Tho City to serve centralized direction and operation, ensuring the ability to integrate and share data with other information systems; the deployment includes equipping specialized servers to install and operate the platform.
