Boost in the super-sustainable smartphone market

NGUYỄN ĐĂNG |

Super durable smartphones are increasingly asserting their position in the market, despite harsh conditions and strong impacts.

The global hypersonic phone market is expected to grow from 1.31 billion USD in 2024 to 3.33 billion USD in 2032, with a strong compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.3%. This rapid growth is driven by growing demand for smartphones that can withstand harsh environments and harsh usage situations.

Super durable smartphones are designed to withstand harsher conditions than regular smartphones. These equipment are equipped with advanced protection features such as shockproof, waterproof and dustproof bodies.

The durable smartphone market attracts quite a few units such as Doogee, Oukitel, Blackview, Ulefone, CAT and recently Honor. Among these, Honor - in addition to modern, super-thin smartphones - has also built a reputation for durable phones, with each generation of the company's signature X9 series phone being improved for impact resistance.

According to the Arab Times, the Honor X9d recently set a Guinness World Record for being intact despite falling from a height of 6.133m. The device is also equipped with water and dust resistance that meets IP69K standards - the highest in the industry. The machine can operate for 30 minutes underwater at a depth of 1.5m and take underwater photos at a depth of 6m.

The device is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, combined with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage.

In addition to its high durability and long battery, this phone has many new AI features from Honor, including Magic Text to extract text from images, Magic Portal to pull and release content into compatible apps using fingerprints, AI Subtitles, AI Translate and AI Writing...

In addition to the advantages, the Honor X9d also has some disadvantages. Accordingly, the Magic OS 9 interface still has a lot of junk software. The machine also did not have a really big breakthrough in the camera. The operating system is sometimes pulled back. The design of the device is also considered quite bulky.

In the mid-range segment, Honor X9d has many competitors from brands such as Samsung, Realme, Oppo, Vivo... For example, compared to Samsung Galaxy X56, Honor X9d is better in terms of battery capacity, fast charging, and durability. However, in terms of cameras, Samsung's device line is considered to be superior.

According to Phone Arena, the market of durable smartphones is having innovations and there is fierce competition between units.
