This feature helps to fade text or images, only appearing when viewers click.
In the tested version, users can black out text or select an image, then click Miling is disclosure to hide the content.
The Threads app also displays a spinning effect that covers content before disappearing when users click. Meta said the feature is designed to make it easier for users to discuss currently running programs without revealing details to others.
Threads currently has an increasingly large user community sharing about movies and with the algorithmic display mechanism, the risk of content disclosure is quite high.
Not many social media platforms other than Reddit support covering up disclosure. Usually, users have to use general measures such as hiding keywords to avoid being exposed to details of movies or programs.
This new feature is not yet widely rolled out, but it is part of a series of recent changes on Threads. Most notably, Meta is testing its own pagers on Threads in several countries. Previously, all messages on Threads were forwarded to Instagram.
