According to Counterpoint Research's latest Fold-screen Smartphone Market Monitor report, global Fold-screen Smartphone sales increased by 14% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, marking the highest quarterly growth rate ever in this segment.
The share of foldable smartphones in the entire global smartphone market reached 2.5% in the third quarter, thanks to their widespread popularity in the high-end segments. Book-based models are at the forefront of growth, driven by the launch of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the continued power of Huawei's Mate series. Sales of clamshell folding phones have also increased, thanks to Samsung's refreshed global product line and the strong acceptance of Samsung's Razr 60 series.
Samsung leads the foldable smartphone market, accounting for 64% of the market share, much higher than the 56% rate in the same period last year. The thinner engine, lighter hardware, improved hydration and wrinkle-reducing capabilities of the Z Fold 7 have contributed to their sales.
Huawei ranked second with a 15% market share, maintaining a steady growth momentum with the Mate series, while Honor and Vivo continued to make their mark in the market with impressive new products. The two companies account for 6% and 4% of the market share, respectively.
Meanwhile, Samsung has emerged as one of the prominent brands globally, expanding its foldable screen user base through competitive prices, strong distribution channel partnerships and positive reviews of product usage capabilities. contractor's market share was 7% in the last quarter.
