On December 12, the Ho Chi Minh City Electronic Communications Association officially announced the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association (HBA) and the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Advertising and Communications Association (DACA).
At the sideline discussion session of the event, experts discussed strategies to make Ho Chi Minh City an ideal destination for businesses in IoT (Internet of Things), blockchain (blockchain technology) and AI (artificial intelligence).
On the management side, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the efforts of the Ho Chi Minh City Electronic Communications Association in 2024, especially the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Blockchain Association.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi, state management agencies in Ho Chi Minh City are ready to create a legal corridor and unlock resources in the fields of games, blockchain...
He also hopes that in the coming time, relevant units will organize startup forums on games and blockchain, and the city government will support. Through that, Mr. Hoi hopes that when people think of Ho Chi Minh City, they will think of opportunities to break through and excel in various fields.
Representative of Ho Chi Minh City Electronic Communications Association, Mr. Nguyen Quy Hoa said that the association has been operating for 34 years and realized that Ho Chi Minh City is always the leading unit in digital communications.
“The role of the association is to connect, currently businesses operating in the blockchain sector do not fully understand the regulations and legal framework. Therefore, the association will take on the role of connecting and helping businesses better understand to take advantage of the benefits from state policies,” Mr. Quy Hoa affirmed.
Representative of Blockchain Association, Mr. Le Thanh, Vice President of the association, said that Ho Chi Minh City can become an ideal destination for blockchain startups due to 5 factors, including:

- Support and facilitation from management agencies, always ready to support startups that want to contribute and innovate.
- Strategic advice and guidance from industry organizations such as the Electronic Information Association helps businesses comply with and adhere to policies.
- Ho Chi Minh City is currently the leading center with remarkable achievements in the blockchain field such as: SkyMavis, Ninety Eight, Kyber... All of the above enterprises were established 7-8 years ago and have been recognized by the world through many stages.
- Ho Chi Minh City possesses high-quality human resources, which new industries like blockchain need and are lacking.
