According to lawyer Phan Vu Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Communications - Electronics Association, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Intellectual Property Association, businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have many opportunities to strongly transform digitally, creating momentum for the development of the digital economy, with support policies from the government.

He gave data showing that 70% of large-scale digital transformation projects in the world have failed. For Vietnam, the e-Government ranking in 2024 will be 71st, up 15 places compared to 2022, which shows a great contribution of the media.

According to him, for digital transformation communication to be effective, it is necessary to go deep into service models, value-generating applications instead of focusing on the number of initiatives; pay attention to digital transformation as a flexible process, the model can change over time...

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen The Vinh, Chairman of the Blockchain Association of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized the need for recognizing cryptocurrency assets, applying blockchain technology (block chain), to build a necessary technology platform for the digital economy and digital transformation in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to him, this will bring in a huge source of revenue from taxes and transaction fees; greatly reduce the burden of resources, costs as well as operating time of systems.

He cited data showing that the total trading volume of cryptocurrency in Vietnam is up to 800 billion USD/year, much higher than the total trading volume of the stock market. In 2024, Vietnam will be in the Top 4 countries with the highest trading volume on Binance. The transaction volume from Vietnamese investors is estimated at 250 billion USD/year, according to the Wall Street Journal.
