On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, the Chinese technology company will hold a major event on May 22. Accordingly, Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone, Xiaomi Pad Ultra tablet and the phone chip designed by itself, the Xring O1. In addition to all those mobile devices, Xiaomi will also introduce its first electric SUV, Xiaomi YU7.
The new chip developed by Xiaomi itself, the Xring O1, is built on a 3nm process and achieves performance between the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 and Gen 3. The first phone equipped with this chip is the Xiaomi 15S Pro. Basically, this smartphone model will keep the overall design of the remaining Xiaomi 15 series, but focus on upgraded camera features.
Xiaomi 15S Pro could also bring a technology that people have not seen from this brand for many years - Ultra Wideband (UWB). According to Phone Arena, UWB is a short-range wireless technology that is becoming the standard on high-end phones.
The technology is already available on Google Pixel smartphones, iPhones from the 11 series, and Samsung Galaxy S and Z smartphones. Unlike Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, UWB transmits data over a wide frequency band using extremely low power, helping it perform tasks such as accurately tracking devices and transmitting data quickly with almost zero noise.
In addition, Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra tablets are likely to be equipped with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a new Qualcomm chip that is more efficient than Gen 8 and upgrades the device in all aspects. The device is also equipped with a 14-inch screen, 3.2K resolution and 120W fast charging support.
