Some users are now seeing a new pen icon in the lower right corner of cover photos when viewing playlists on music.youtube.com.
This icon allows you to “Choose from library” and “Delete custom image”.
The first option allows you to select an image from your computer and re-crop the cover photo. After a second, the playlist page will update with the new background.
For many, the ability to personalize your YouTube Music library is a much-anticipated feature. Previously, if you didn't use AI-generated images, playlists would default to a grid of album art, making it difficult to recognize individual playlists.
There's only one report of custom thumbnails for playlists working right now, and many users say they still don't see the feature on their YouTube Music accounts.
