On May 23, Disney+ Korea announced at a media event in Seoul (Korea), the new drama Delusion is on the list of films that will be released in 2026.
At the same time, Disney+ officially posted a post confirming that actors Kim Seon Ho and Suzy will join the film as the main actors.
Based on the webtoon (online comic) of the same name, Delusion is a mystery horror film, set in Gyeongseong in 1935. The story is about Yoon Yi Ho (Kim Seon Ho), an artist assigned to paint a portrait of the mysterious woman Song Jeong Hwa (Suzy).
The role of Song Jeong Hwa, played by Suzy as the owner of Nammoon Hotel, has not been a foreign family member for more than half a century. Jeong Hwa has a strangely charming appearance, and is also a hidden character with many secrets and surrounded by rumors.
When faced with this woman, Yoon Yi Ho's true passion for art is on fire. Although trapped inside the hotel and overwhelmed with fear and confusion, Yi Ho finds himself gradually being fascinated by Jeong Hwa.
The film is directed by famous film director Han Jae Rim, known for the films The King, Emergency Declaration, The 8 Show.
Delusion also marks the reunion between Suzy and Kim Seon Ho after 6 years, since they both participated in the TV series Start-Up aired in 2020.
Previously, according to Korean media, Delusion was originally planned to be adapted into a movie, considering actors Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee as the main characters.
However, the filming plan was canceled, when the two artists were involved in a love scandal and announced their breakup just 2 weeks after publicly dating their relationship, in March last year.
After that, Delusion changed production direction to a drama with an investment of up to 45 billion won. According to the revelation, the "huge" cost of the project is due to the filming process abroad and the investment in using advanced CGI technology to create the film's setting.
Last month, it was reported that actor Choi Hyun Wook also took on a leading role in Delusion. But details about his role have not been revealed.
