Youngseo once attracted attention when he won second place overall in the idol selection program "RU Next?", co-produced by JTBC and Belift Lab (currently ILLIT's management company).
Youngseo was originally planned to debut as a member of ILLIT. But in January last year, it was announced that her exclusive contract had ended after discussions with the management company.

Last year, there were rumors that Bailey Sok and Annie Moon would debut in the MEOVV group because the photos at The Black Label trainee studio showed these two. But in the end, MEOVV debuted with a 5-member team of Ella, Sooin, Anna, Gawon, Narin.
