The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just submitted a document to the Provincial People's Council on approving the policy of supporting the provincial budget to invest in the construction of Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, Foreign Trade University, Training Facility - under Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Bac Ninh province.
According to the submission, the support is based on the proposal of the Ministry of Health, Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, Foreign Trade University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The report also said that the need for specific mechanisms and policies to encourage and attract prestigious public universities to invest, expand the training facilities in the area will bring many positive and extensive impacts on the socio -economic development and the province's resources in the middle and long term, in line with the orientation of industry development and important fields of the province.
In particular, it has a specific impact on the development of high-quality human resources in the fields of health, economy - finance, mechanics, electronics, information technology, automation, artificial intelligence, environmental management and monitoring, etc.
At the same time, it will also affect the development of key economic sectors and fields, spreading to society and people's lives.
The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assessed that the need for public investment support capital from the provincial budget for 3 universities and training institutions - under Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Bac Ninh province with an estimated value of about 720 billion VND (which can be adjusted according to the actual implementation of the project) in the 2026-2030 period can be met.
In particular, the project to invest in the construction of the Hanoi Medical University in Bac Ninh with an estimated support capital of 250 billion VND.
The investment project to build and strengthen the facilities of Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment in Bac Ninh - phase 1 with the expected support capital: 100 billion VND.
The investment project to build facilities for Foreign Trade University in Bac Ninh with an expected support capital of: 250 billion VND.
Training Facilities Project - under Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the expected support capital: 120 billion VND.
The project to reorganize Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to establish the (new) Bac Ninh province clearly states the plan to organize universities and colleges (under central agencies) located in the province.
Accordingly, based on the plan, the new Bac Ninh province will continue to develop University Zones 1 and 2 to form a national and international center for training, scientific research and technology application, with a total area of 1,115 hectares.
