Increase the exam period, increase the number of exam subjects
Hanoi National University of Education announced on January 6 that the 2026 competency assessment exam organized by the school (SPT) will take place in 2 phases instead of just 1 phase like last year.
In particular, this year is also the first time that Informatics, Technology, Economic Education and Law have been included in the exam, besides Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography as every year. Candidates can register to take at least three subjects, and a maximum of 7 subjects.
Candidates register for the exam on the official website of the SPT exam and can only choose to participate in 1 of 2 exam phases.
For 1 selected exam phase (phase 1 or phase 2), candidates can register to take the exam at 1 of the corresponding exam locations. The number of candidates registering at one exam location is unlimited.

To register for the exam, candidates use citizen identification numbers, phone numbers, and personal emails. SPT 2026 candidate account on the website: https://khaothi.hnue.edu.vn/. From the registered account, candidates declare/modify SPT exam information, download necessary proofs and pay exam fees.
The exam fee is 250,000 VND/exam subject. The paid fee will not be refunded in any case.
Registration time for the exam is from March 15 to April 15, 2026 (details on the registration method will be announced by the school later). The results will be announced before June 15.

Content and structure of exam questions
Hanoi National University of Education said that the content of the exams corresponds to the content of subjects and high school exam subjects; in line with the 2018 General Education Program and the teaching and learning orientation, testing and assessment of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The exam combines multiple-choice and essay questions with appropriate score ratios according to the structure of each exam; assesses the level of understanding core knowledge and the ability to reason, analyze, evaluate, solve problems and be creative. Candidates take the exam directly in the exam room, answer questions by coloring on multiple-choice answer sheets (TLTN) and writing on the exam paper.
