On the afternoon of September 22, Mui Ne Ward Police, Lam Dong Province, said that they had promptly prevented some students at a secondary school from buying, selling, nurturing and worshiping "Kuman Thong dolls" with the purpose of "asking luck and studying well" through word of mouth.
Previously, the Ward Police coordinated with the School Board to work with the students involved. Through verification, V - a student of the school, admitted that from the end of 2024 until now, he has bought more than 20 Kuman Thong dolls through Facebook for 500,000 to 900,000 VND. After that, V sold it to his classmate for profit.

Some other children, out of curiosity, also bought and even taught each other how to worship Kuman Thong dolls to pray for luck and good study. Some children even set up altars, lit incense, bought candy and milk for Kuman Thong dolls, and even brought them to school to "care for" them.
Realizing the negative impact, Mui Ne Ward Police coordinated with schools and parents to organize propaganda and clearly analyze the harmful effects of raising and worshiping Kuman Thong puppets.
The authorities emphasized that this is an exaggerated superstitious behavior in the educational environment, contrary to legal regulations, causing cognitive deviation and potentially affecting students' psychology.
After the meeting, the students realized their wrongdoings and pledged to give up buying, selling, and raising Kuman Thong puppets.
