Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment of VNU-HCM, said that after 22 days of opening the registration portal, there were 74,781 candidates registered for the first round of the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam. It is expected that the number of candidates registering for the entire first round of the exam could reach 120,000 people.
Candidates register for the exam completely online, each candidate uses 1 account to register, print the exam notification form, view exam results and download the result notification form.
During the registration and exam process, candidates will be scheduled to take the exam at the nearest exam location. The exam notification form is created about a week before the exam date. Candidates must log in to their account to print the exam notification form and use it when taking the exam. At the same time, candidates must use the original citizen identification card or ID card when taking the exam.
From 2025, VNU-HCM will only issue electronic certificates of exam results, not paper certificates of results. Candidates can download the certificates of results from their accounts and use them to register for admission.
The 2025 HCM National University Competency Assessment Exam has 2 rounds.
Phase 1, candidates register for the exam from January 20 to February 20, 2025.
The exam is held in 25 provinces/cities, including: Thua Thien Hue, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.
Exam will be held on March 30. Results will be announced on April 16, 2025.
Phase 2, candidates register for the exam from April 17 to May 7, 2025.
The exam took place in 11 provinces/cities, including: Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang and An Giang.
Exam will be held on June 1, 2025. Results will be announced on June 16, 2025.
This year's HCM National University's competency assessment test consists of 120 questions. Of which, the Logic - Data Analysis and Problem Solving section is restructured into Scientific Thinking, with 30 multiple choice questions. The questions are structured in the direction of providing information, data, facts, experimental planning, and experimental results, thereby requiring candidates to demonstrate their ability to understand and apply information, determine experimental results, and predict laws.
The Language Use (Vietnamese and English) and Mathematics sections have increased the number of questions to 60 and 30 questions, respectively.
Candidates have a total time of 150 minutes to complete the test. The maximum score of the test is 1,200 points, each question has a different weighting depending on the difficulty. Of which, the Language section is 600 points; Mathematics is 300 points and Scientific Thinking is 300 points.
