Facilities still have many limitations
According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, the locality currently has more than 1,300 educational institutions, with more than 690,000 students from preschool to high school and vocational education - continuing education. However, the school's facilities are still limited. Currently, the whole province has more than 20 temporary classrooms, 64 borrowed classrooms, many branch schools are degraded, the rate of schools meeting national standards is still low.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Principal of Vo Nguyen Giap High School - said: "In the 2025 - 2026 school year, the school has nearly 40% of ethnic minority students. In which, there are many difficult cases. Before the new school year, the school has repainted and renovated the degraded classrooms, renovating the hygiene to make the children more comfortable when going to school".
According to Mr. Dung, the school's youth union also cooperated with homeroom teachers to grasp the situation of students in difficult circumstances, especially ethnic minorities, to support scholarships. Each student received 1.5 million VND from the bank's sponsorship.
Ahead of the 2025 - 2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province has coordinated with the Department of Finance to advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds to repair, upgrade and purchase teaching equipment for schools, with a total cost of 293 billion VND.
For preschool, primary and secondary schools, the cost of repair and procurement is decentralized to the People's Committees of communes and wards for implementation. Currently, the People's Committees of communes and wards in the province are managing 230 kindergartens, 310 primary schools and 280 secondary schools.
Up to now, the repair items of classrooms, toilets, playgrounds, along with the installation of clean water systems and lighting are being urgently deployed, with an average completion rate of about 75%.
Arrange enough teachers for schools
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province - emphasized: Before the new school year, schools need to be proactive, urgently review, overcome and perfect the conditions for organizing teaching and learning, ensuring sufficient conditions to welcome students to school and open the new school year. At the same time, continue to advise, report on the actual situation, problems and propose timely handling solutions to competent authorities. According to Ms. Xuan, to ensure the quality of teaching and learning in the context of implementing local government at 2 levels, the unit has been opening professional training classes to improve management and professional capacity for managers and teachers. The sector also organizes training and support for leaders of the People's Committee and cadres and civil servants of the Department of Culture and Society of communes and wards.
