On November 20, Ho Chi Minh City Power College (under the Southern Power Corporation - EVNSPC) celebrated the 49th anniversary of the school's founding (1976 - 2025) and celebrated Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20. The ceremony took place solemnly and left many beautiful images and memories for generations of students, staff and teaching staff of the school.
Despite many difficulties and challenges since its establishment, generations of cadres, teachers and staff of the school have always strived and strived in teaching and training and have achieved many outstanding results. Specifically, from 1986 to 1996, human resources trained by the school have actively contributed and effectively served key national projects such as the construction and operation of Tri An Hydropower Plant, the North - South 500kV line (line 1), rural electrification program, etc.
In the period of 1995 - 2000, the school was ready to catch up with the economic development speed at that time when training a team of operators and line managers to operate the volume of transformer stations and 110kV, 220kV lines that were built more and more. In particular, in 2003, the school trained the electrical engineers of Cambodia to operate the Moc Bai - Phnom Penh 220kV station and line. In addition, key power projects in the South such as Phu My Thermal Power Center, Vinh Tan Thermal Power Center, Duyen Hai... all have the participation of trainees from Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity.
With those achievements, over the years the school has been of interest to the Party, the State, the Government and ministries and branches, awarding many Medals and Certificates of Merit of all kinds.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity always focuses on investing resources to keep up with trends, actively applying scientific and technological achievements in the electricity industry such as automating transformer stations, smart grids, automatic control, etc. In addition, the school also organizes many specialized training courses to closely follow EVNSPC's production and business requirements such as: automating transformer stations, on-duty, managing power measurement systems, connecting medium-voltage underground cables, training on repair of hot power for distribution grid, cleaning of power supply grid, installing rooftop solar power, testing to diagnose CBM technology equipment, repairing 110kV power grid carrying electricity, connecting 110kV underground cables, smart grids, smart transformer stations...
In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity will focus on comprehensive digital transformation in teaching - learning and management; expand training in new majors such as Nuclear Power Plant Operation, Smart Grid, Industry Automation 4.0; continue to standardize the teaching staff according to national and international standards; promote cooperation with businesses to increase internship - job opportunities; build a safe - creative - startup learning environment for students...
