To ensure the best conditions for the exam, the school organized it at 4 locations: Cau Giay Secondary School, Yen Hoa Secondary School, Tran Duy Hung Secondary School, Nguyen Viet Xuan Elementary School.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai - Vice Principal of Cau Giay Secondary School said: "In the enrollment season of the 2026 - 2027 school year, the school organizes a competency assessment test for students. With an enrollment target of 440 students, while the number of registered candidates is 5,656, we organize tests at 4 exam sites with a scale of 189 exam rooms.

The number of registered applications this year has increased sharply compared to last year. Explaining this issue, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai said "In previous years, the school limited the subjects of enrollment registration to students who actually registered their residence in Cau Giay district. This year, when implementing the two-level local government model, the school does not limit the area of residence. Just having residence in Hanoi, students can all participate in registering for enrollment at Cau Giay Secondary School. Therefore, the number of applications this year has increased significantly compared to last year. If the school received more than 3,000 applications last year, this number has exceeded 5,000 applications this year.

Regarding this year's exam questions, the school said that it has made it very clear in the enrollment plan and in the process of propaganda to parents and students.
The content of the exam questions mainly focuses on the 5th grade program according to the 2018 General Education Program. The exam questions combine both multiple-choice and essay forms so that students can develop their abilities and complete the exam," said Vice Principal Nguyen Thi Mai.

Student's GPA score = GPA score for Math subject + GPA score for Vietnamese subject + GPA score for English subject Admission score = GPA score + admission score (if any).

The enrollment principle of Cau Giay Secondary School is to only recruit students who meet the enrollment conditions and participate in 3 competency assessment tests, without violating the Regulations in the competency assessment period to the extent of canceling the assessment results.
Admission scores are considered from high to low until the quota is met, the benchmark score for the school is calculated as the score of the last student according to the quota.
