The Ministry of Education and Training answers a series of hot issues about shared textbooks from 2026

Many National Assembly deputies agreed with the policy of building a unified set of textbooks nationwide from the 2026-2027 school year, but suggested that the Ministry of Education and Training clarify the scope of application (mandatory books or standard books), free - reuse policies, as well as the reasons for the change to ensure transparency and persuasion.

The Ministry of Education and Training said it is seeking public opinions and developing an implementation plan in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 71, ensuring publicity, objectivity, economy and limiting impact on stakeholders.

After the policy is approved, the Ministry of Education and Training will review current regulations and add regulations on exemption of textbooks from tuition fees in the Government's decree, ensuring sufficient legal basis for implementation. In response to concerns about "reconciliating thinking", the Ministry affirmed that it will increase training, innovate teaching methods and assessment to promote the creativity of teachers and students when using a common set of books. If you buy, you have to buy a bed, so that students do not have to lie on a brick floor

At Pu Nhi Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Muong Lat District, Thanh Hoa), many students still have to sleep under a brick floor due to lack of beds. According to Mr. Tran Van Liem - Principal of Pu Nhi Commune Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, there are currently about 40 children lying on the ground because the school only has about 50 beds for 440 students. Many other learning equipment such as desks, chairs, and dining tables are also seriously lacking.

Sponsor Tam Nhin had contacted for support since the end of August and the beginning of September but had not yet transferred the device. Therefore, the school and local authorities are still waiting for information. If there is no funding, Pu Nhi commune plans to buy beds and equipment, including buy to ensure learning and living conditions for students.
