Schools are ready to welcome students
Tomorrow (September 5), along with students nationwide, more than 745,000 students in Gia Lai province will officially enter the 2025-2026 school year. Up to now, facilities and equipment at schools and educational institutions in the province have been basically fully prepared, ready for the opening day and teaching work.
Recorded on the morning of September 4, many schools in Quy Nhon, Quy Nhon Nam, and An Nhon wards were busy cleaning their schools and renovating their campuses to welcome students.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Dung - Principal of Dap Da Primary School No. 1 (An Nhon Ward) - said that the school's facilities and equipment for the new school year are basically guaranteed. The school grounds and classrooms have been cleaned before the opening day.
"However, the school infrastructure was built in 2008 and is currently in some degraded items that need to be repaired and upgraded soon. This morning, the school completed the rehearsal for the opening ceremony, ensuring a solemn and stable event," said Mr. Dung.
Previously, in early May and June 2025, heavy rain and tornadoes blew off the roof of 150m2 of the official residence, collapsed 30m of the wall and damaged equipment at Le Hong Phong Secondary School ( Ia Chia commune), causing damage of about 80 million VND; collapsed 120m of the fence of Vo Thi Sau Primary School ( Po To commune), causing damage of about 56 million VND.

Up to now, both schools have basically repaired facilities damaged by natural disasters, ensuring conditions for the opening ceremony and teaching in the new school year.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Gia Lai province - said that before the new school year, schools and educational institutions in the area have proactively prepared infrastructure and teaching equipment carefully, suitable to the conditions of each unit.
The burden of tuition fees is lifted
The 2025-2026 school year is even more special for students nationwide in general and Gia Lai province in particular when the tuition exemption and support policy is officially applied.
On February 28, 2025, the Politburo decided to exempt all tuition fees for students from preschool to high school in public schools nationwide, starting from the 2025-2026 school year.
On June 26, 2025, the National Assembly unanimously approved the policy of tuition exemption for preschool children, primary school students, and students studying general education programs in public educational institutions.
The Government stipulates a policy of reducing tuition fees by 50-70%, supporting learning costs for poor students, those in difficult circumstances, students subject to social policies and ethnic minority students (study in public, private and private schools).
In the face of the humane policies of the Party and State, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ai (born in 1991, residing in An Nhon Nam ward) feels relieved when the worry about expenses for her children before the new school year is no longer burdened.
"My family has 3 children preparing to enter the new school year. In previous years, the total cost of the first school year for the children was about 20 million VND, including clothes, books and tuition. Of which, the tuition fee alone is nearly 9 million VND.
When I learned that the State has implemented a tuition exemption policy since this year, I was really happy. The worry about food and tuition fees at the beginning of this year has been relieved. This is an extremely meaningful policy, especially for disadvantaged families, helping children have the opportunity to go to school and have a better future," Ms. Ai expressed.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province, the education sector is conducting a survey and statistics to implement a policy of tuition exemption and support for students in the province.
"Parents are all very excited about this policy. This is a humane policy, has profound meaning and is agreed and supported by the whole society," Mr. Hung emphasized.
