On September 5, Director of Lam Dong Provincial Department of Education and Training (DET) Le Thi Bich Lien had a meeting with principals of kindergartens and primary schools with boarding for the 2025-2026 school year in Phan Thiet area.
The meeting aims to remove difficulties and obstacles related to organizing boarding at the above facilities.
At the meeting, the leader of the Department of Education and Training said that the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 21 dated August 28, 2025. Resolution No. 21 selects Resolution No. 385, dated December 10, 2024 of the People's Council of Lam Dong province (old) to be applied throughout the province. Resolution No. 385 stipulates fees, fees, and revenue and expenditure management mechanisms for educational support services at schools.

Many schools have reported difficulties in purchasing items and signing contracts to hire staff to serve boarding before August 28. With the collection rate according to Resolution 385, it will not be enough to hire a nanny to serve the boarding. In addition, according to Circular 214, the bidding requirements for purchasing boarding meals also make schools confused.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training shared the difficulties of the schools and at the same time proposed solutions to the situation.
For things that Resolution No. 385 does not stipulate, schools must discuss and agree with the parents' association so that they can voluntarily collect and serve their boarding school. The school does not collect.
In the first 2 weeks of the school year, schools temporarily buy food from old sources to ensure boarding for students. During that time, the Department will have detailed instructions and training on the bidding process according to regulations.

Before the news that the school will continue to organize boarding for their children, Ms. L.T.M - a parent in Phan Thiet ward - was very happy. Ms. M said: "I feel relieved because both husband and wife are working, if the school does not organize boarding, it will be difficult to take care of the situation of picking up and dropping off their children at noon".
As Lao Dong reported, in recent days, many parents in Phan Thiet ward have been confused when teachers informed the school that they would not organize boarding but only study 2 sessions/day. If we have to pick up our children at noon to eat, take them to school in the early afternoon, and then pick them up again, it will affect work and disrupt life.
In response to this reflection, Ms. Le Thi Bich Lien - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province - affirmed that the Department has not issued any documents or requests to stop boarding in the new school year 2025-2026. At the same time, the Department has issued an urgent document to the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to encourage the organization of boarding at primary education institutions for the 2025-2026 school year.
