Accordingly, in the 2024-2025 school year, the rate of students taking the 10th grade entrance exam, the national excellent student exam, and high school graduation exam will increase compared to the previous school year.
In particular, the high school graduation rate reached 99.82%, with 118 exams achieving 10 points (a nearly double increase compared to 2024). The national excellent student achievement has a breakthrough, putting Dien Bien in 2nd place in terms of tournament quality in the emulation cluster of 7 northern mountainous provinces.
However, the provincial education sector still faces many difficulties such as: lack of teachers in English, IT, Music, Fine Arts; facilities of some schools in difficult areas...
In the 2025-2026 school year, the Dien Bien Education sector aims to continue to innovate and improve comprehensive quality, focusing on streamlining the apparatus and efficiency; advising on the establishment of Thai Nguyen University branch and a number of non-public training institutions to expand high-level learning opportunities for students.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Duc Toan - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the provincial education sector continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, innovation, and creativity; focus on improving the professional qualifications of managers and teachers; promote digital transformation; ensure fairness in access to education, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas.
On this occasion, 1 collective and 8 individuals were awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; 42 individuals received the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister; 6 collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training in the 2024 - 2025 school year; 1 collective was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee; 12 individuals were awarded the Commemorative Medal "For the cause of building and developing Dien Bien province" in 2025.
As of the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 485 schools and centers, with 7,341 classes and more than 207 thousand students, students, and trainees; more than 16,000 cadres, teachers, and staff working in the education sector.
