Hundreds of households register for extra teaching business
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (40 years old, residing in Truong Thi ward, Vinh city, Nghe An) said: "My son is in grade 12 this year at Huynh Thuc Khang High School. Since the beginning of the school year, my child has registered to study additional subjects of Math - Literature - English at the school with payment. But since February 14, the school announced the end of tutoring activities, I don't know where to send my child to study more and review for the graduation exam."
Many other parents in some localities in Nghe An province also feel difficult and confused in finding a place for their children to attend extra classes after the extra classes at the school end.
Ms. Nguyen Hong Anh - a junior high school Literature teacher in Tan Ky district - shared: "In the city or the central area, parents have many options and students can study teachers inside and outside of school. However, in rural areas, most students have long studied with teachers at school and when it is banned, they have no other choice. We ourselves also really want to teach them, but we are currently stuck in Circular 29, so we are very confused when organizing it.
According to Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training, extra teaching outside of school is implemented with the condition that individuals and service management organizations must register for business. In response to the above request, many people have registered to do business to organize extra classes. To date, about 700 dossiers of business registration for households to organize extra teaching and learning have been submitted to the Department of Finance - Planning, Vinh City People's Committee.
Focus on reviewing for senior students
On March 2, the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province announced that it had just issued document No. 417 signed by Director Thai Van Thanh, requiring educational institutions in the area to strictly implement Circular 29/2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training on regulations on extra teaching and learning. For primary education, the Department requires educational institutions with enough teachers to continue implementing the educational plan with a duration of 32 periods/week, divided into 9 sessions/week for all grades. Establishments lacking teachers need the Department of Education and Training to advise the People's Committees at the district level to support funding to maintain the above educational plan.
If there is not enough funding, it is necessary to adjust the flexible teaching plan, ensuring the content and duration of compulsory subjects according to the 2018 General Education Program, in accordance with students' characteristics and local conditions.
For secondary education, schools and professional groups need to have support solutions, create conditions for teachers to have a favorable environment, and implement measures to ensure the quality of education in teaching.
The Nghe An Provincial Department of Education and Training requires continuing to implement a review plan for grade 9 and grade 12 students to ensure that 100% of students who wish to review are eligible, in order to ensure their rights in the entrance exam for grade 10 high school in the 2025-2026 school year and the high school graduation exam in 2025. Units will base on the number and subjects of students registering for extra classes according to each subject, the unit's teaching plan, develop an estimate for extra classes, and determine the available funding source at the unit for implementation. In case of lack of funding, the unit will prepare a dossier to propose additional...
