On May 12, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot city (Dak Lak province) informed that the unit is directing relevant agencies to review and propose additional funding for schools to pay preferential allowances to teachers in the area.
Previously, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee discovered that Buon Ma Thuot city was spending more than 30 billion VND less than teachers at 36 schools in the area.
Including 8 kindergartens, 19 primary schools and 9 secondary schools in units in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
The Dak Lak Provincial Inspectorate concluded that from 2021 to 2025, Buon Ma Thuot city will have only 7/21 communes and wards in Area I in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Including the communes of Cu Ebur, Ea Kao, Ea Tu, Hoa Phu, Hoa Khanh and Ea Tam ward.
The City People's Committee has assigned a budget for schools to pay preferential allowances to teachers who are directly teaching in schools in the above area lower than the regulations.
Pay a preferential allowance of 35% to teachers teaching at kindergartens and primary schools (lower than the allowance is 15%); pay a preferential allowance of 30% to teachers teaching at secondary schools (lower than the allowance is 5%).
Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee said that the city in the highlands, but in the central guidance, there is no preferential level for highland areas. Therefore, the City People's Committee pays at the level of plains, cities and towns.
The leader of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot city said that, based on the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the city will make every effort to ensure full allowances for teachers according to current regulations.
In case not enough funding has been allocated before July 31, 2025, the City People's Committee will hand over to the wards and communes for implementation, not allowing teachers to suffer.
