To ensure the safety of students, staff, and teachers, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training recommends that units let students take a day off on October 6, 2025 (Monday). At the same time, change the form from in-person teaching to online teaching, continue to closely monitor weather developments in the following days to promptly have flexible response plans in organizing teaching and learning.
Units need to regularly update information, promptly report difficulties and problems to the Department of Education and Training.
Previously, to proactively respond to storm No. 11, on October 2, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Official Dispatch No. 1753/CD-BGDDT on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and proactively responding to storm No. 11, along with the Official Dispatch of the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) requested the People's Committees of wards and communes to direct educational institutions in the area; Heads of units and schools under the Department to focus on closely monitoring the developments of storm No. 11. Schools need to regularly update warning bulletins, weather forecasts, and natural disasters to proactively prevent, respond, and overcome consequences.
Accordingly, based on the weather situation and natural disaster developments, educational institutions proactively review, prepare plans and deploy response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto, in accordance with the actual conditions of the school. At the same time, it is necessary to have a plan to promptly relocate assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, records, and books to safe places to avoid damage and loss, minimizing damage caused by the storm.
For units with boarding students, students must be strictly managed. The travel requires coordination between schools and families according to the plan and direction of local authorities, ensuring absolute safety. The school also needs to prepare enough drinking water, food and provisions to meet the living needs of students during the storm.
Schools absolutely do not organize extracurricular activities or collective activities in areas at risk of flooding and landslides. At the same time, establish an information channel with parents to manage students when participating in local activities, in order to minimize possible risks.
In addition, schools need to regularly update information, summarize damage (if any), develop a handling plan, overcome and report to the Department of Education and Training through the Department of Politics, ideology and Student Affairs.
Before the official announcement of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, many schools in Hanoi had proactively allowed students to study online to cope with storm No. 11 Matmo.
