The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that the Chau Foreign Language Center (address 182-184-186 Le Van Viet Street, Tang Nhon Phu B Ward, Thu Duc City) was established under Decision No. 248 and was allowed to operate educational activities under Decision No. 640 of 2023, recognizing the center's Director as Ms. Tran My Ngoc (term 2023-2028) in Decision No. 759.
Chau 1 Foreign Language Center (address 729-731 Kha Van Can, Linh Tay Ward, Thu Duc City) was established under Decision No. 375 and is allowed to operate educational activities under Decision No. 907, recognizing the center's Director as Ms. Tran My Ngoc (term 2023-2028) in Decision No. 1080.
The investor of the two centers above is Duy Khang Education and Training Company Limited (under the direction of Mr. Ho Dang Duy).
According to the Department of Education and Training, since being licensed, the Chau Foreign Language Center and the Chau Foreign Language Center 1 have operated relatively stably; have conducted periodic reports and attended training sessions organized by the Department of Education and Training.
According to the report for the first quarter of 2025, the Chau Foreign Language Center has 7 Vietnamese teachers (no foreign teachers), 4 Vietnamese staff, a director, enrolling 14 classes with 172 students.
Australia Chau 1 Foreign Language Center has 5 Vietnamese teachers (no foreign teachers), 4 Vietnamese staff, a director, enrolling 12 classes with 144 students.
During the operation management process, the Department of Education and Training conducted inspection of the operation situation of the two establishments on 6 and 12.7.2023. After the inspection, the unit had a remedial report to the Department of Education and Training.
The Department of Education and Training has not yet received a report on the suspension of operations of these two centers. Regarding the information " the investor fled", the center has not reported to the Department of Education and Training.
In response to this incident, the Department of Education and Training transferred information about the legal documents of the two centers mentioned above to the City Police (PC03).
At the same time, the department has also proactively worked with Linh Tay Ward Police and Tang Nhon Phu B Ward Police (where the headquarters of the two centers are located) to grasp information.
In the coming time, the Department of Education and Training will continue to coordinate with the City Police and the police of the two wards to grasp the situation; organize citizen receptions to receive information and instruct citizens to contact competent authorities for consideration and resolution.
The Department of Education and Training has compiled relevant records and evidence to consider suspending educational activities for the two centers above and recommended that the City Police revoke the seal according to regulations.
Also in the report, the Department of Education and Training proposed the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to direct the City Police to continue monitoring and ensuring security and order in the area, coordinating to provide the Department of Education and Training with information related to the Australian Foreign Language Center, Australian Foreign Language Center 1.
Previously, Lao Dong reported that hundreds of parents with children studying at the ASEAN Foreign Language Center (AIES) were extremely worried when the center suddenly closed and cut off communication.
Parents have paid long-term tuition fees at the center, many parents said they have paid about 20-40 million VND for the next 1-3 years of school but have only studied for a few sessions.
