On the afternoon of February 16, social networks spread images of the Traffic Police force stretching ropes and blocking the road in front of the Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway toll station, heading towards Hanoi.
Regarding this issue, in an interview with Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (C08), Ministry of Public Security said that due to the weekend off, the number of people and vehicles returning to their hometowns and back to the city on spring trips is very large. Therefore, to reduce the load on the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, the Traffic Police on duty on the route have diverted and regulated vehicles towards National Highway 1A.
Traffic diversion and regulation are regularly carried out by the authorities when the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway is congested, has traffic accidents or traffic incidents on the expressways. This is to ensure convenient movement of people and vehicles into the city.
