Compensation payment of more than 268 billion VND
The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 91 (section from Km0 - Km7) with a total investment of nearly VND 7,238 billion is being urgently implemented by Can Tho City. This is a key project, of great significance in the city's socio-economic development.

The project has a total planned land area of about 27.25 hectares; affecting about 1,066 households, individuals and organizations; with a need for resettlement of about 300 plots.
According to the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center, up to now, the compensation, support and resettlement work of the project has achieved positive results. The locality has issued a notice of land recovery for 483/720 cases, counted and prepared compensation records for 1,066/1,066 cases (reaching 100%); submitted and issued a decision approving compensation, support and resettlement plans for 101/266 cases; paid compensation to 73/101 cases with an amount of more than 268 billion VND.
In Ninh Kieu district, the work of determining the origin of houses, land and compensation payments is being accelerated. Binh Thuy District has also issued a notice of land reclamation for 379/616 cases and paid compensation to 55/64 cases.


However, the project is also facing some difficulties and problems such as: lack of resettlement land locations; no specific land prices to calculate compensation at some locations; cases of houses and construction works with construction permits with a term...
To solve these difficulties, Can Tho City has been implementing many synchronous solutions. Localities are speeding up the progress of determining land origin, holding legal meetings and approving compensation plans. At the same time, the city is also reviewing and adjusting compensation and resettlement policies to ensure the rights of the people.
Compensation expected to be approved before April 25
According to the Can Tho City Land Fund Development Center, in recent times, the project has been focused on by the entire political system in the implementation work; especially the consensus and response of the people, the coordination of households, and organizations affected by the project.

The upcoming plan, approved by the Board of Compensation for 41 cases and submitted to the approval of the remaining 42 cases in Ninh Kieu district before April 25. Submitting to approve 63 cases approved by the Compensation Council for projects in An Thoi ward and Tra An ward this March.
The locality focuses on site clearance for Binh Thuy bridge. Of which, An Thoi ward has 37 cases (13 cases have been approved, and 24 cases are completing documents to be approved by the Compensation Council), with a total amount of about 45 billion VND, equivalent to an area of 1,182m2.
Binh Thuy Ward has 40 cases (16 cases have been approved, and 24 cases are completing documents to be approved by the Compensation Council), with a total amount of about 110 billion VND, equivalent to an area of 2,566m2. Bui Huu Nghia Ward has 30 cases that are completing legal meeting documents to approve the Compensation Council. These cases are all expected to be approved before April 25.
The National Highway 91 Upgrade and Expansion Project (section from Km0 - Km7), Can Tho City is a Group A project, a level 1 road traffic project, with implementation period from 2023 - 2027. The overall goal of the project is to complete the transport infrastructure, striving to build Can Tho into a modern and civilized city, basically becoming an industrial city.
