In October 2022, Hanoi started the investment project to build the extended Le Quang Dao road with a length of 2.6 km, starting at the intersection of Le Quang Dao - Thang Long Avenue (Nam Tu Liem district), ending at Duong Noi urban area (Ha Dong district).
The project has a total investment of more than 700 billion VND, of which the site clearance part is more than 163 billion VND, construction and installation is more than 542 billion VND and some other costs, with the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem district as the investor.
According to the design, the route will have inter-regional road standards, with a design speed of 60 km/h. The typical cross-section of the road is 40 m, the section connecting to Thang Long Avenue (about 110 m long) has a cross-section width of 100 m.
According to the original plan, the investor and contractor tried to speed up the project's progress to complete and open the technical traffic on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). However, the rainy weather made the construction difficult, so the project could not be completed as planned.
According to the Nam Tu Liem District Construction Investment Project Management Board, the contract to complete this project will be signed in June 2025. In favorable weather conditions, the contractor will mobilize maximum machinery, workers, and engineers to work in 3 continuous shifts, speeding up the project's progress.
According to the investor, if the construction is guaranteed, the project is expected to be completed in December 2024, 6 months earlier than the contract.
When completed, the project will help shorten travel time between Nam Tu Liem and Ha Dong districts, reducing traffic pressure on many routes in the area.
