The West Thang Long route project, from Ring Road 3.5 to Dan Hoai Canal Road, was approved by the City People's Council in its investment policy in Resolution No. 30/NQ-HDND dated December 8, 2021.
The route is 5.8 km long; the road cross-section scale: Section 1, from Ring Road 3.5 to Ring Road 4 is 60.5m; Section 2, from Ring Road 4 to Dan Hoai Canal is 40m. Tay Thang Long Road, the section through Bac Tu Liem District has been completed with a cross-section of up to 60m including 10 lanes.
The project has a total investment of 1,298 billion VND. Of which, construction cost is 693 billion VND, site clearance cost is 617 billion VND, the rest is other costs and contingency.
Project implementation period is from 2021 to 2025. Investment capital comes from Hanoi city budget and the investor is Dan Phuong district People's Committee.
Immediately after the project investment policy was approved, the People's Committee of Dan Phuong district focused resources, urgently coordinated with city departments and branches, and directed the district's specialized departments and branches to focus on completing project investment procedures.
By December 2024, the People's Committee of Dan Phuong district approved the results of the selection of construction contractors with the winning bidder being the Joint Venture of Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company - Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company. The supervising unit is the Joint Venture of Thang Long Construction Quality Supervision Consulting Joint Stock Company and Pacie Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Dan Phuong District People's Committee Nguyen Van Duc said that this is an important traffic route, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the communes through which the route passes in particular, of Dan Phuong district and the western districts of Hanoi in general.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dan Phuong district requested the construction unit to concentrate human resources, machinery and equipment to implement the project, strictly comply with regulations on planning, land, investment, construction, environment, fire prevention and fighting, labor safety and relevant legal regulations, not to let the construction process affect the lives, production and activities of people in the neighboring area, and complete the project on schedule as approved.

The West Thang Long Road project, from Ring Road 3.5 to Dan Hoai Canal, is being built not only to contribute to completing and synchronizing the technical and traffic infrastructure of the area according to the general planning, but also to play a strategic role in enhancing traffic capacity, connecting the western districts with the city center.
