According to information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police, during the peak of Tet (from December 15, 2024 to February 14, 2025), the number of cases of traffic safety violations in Hanoi City decreased sharply. Typically, some behaviors that have had a high rate of violations in the recent past have decreased by 30 - 40%.
The functional forces of Hanoi City have handled 40,595 cases of traffic safety violations (a decrease of 18,719 cases, a decrease of about 31.55%). Of which, traffic violations in the road sector still account for the majority with 40,150 cases, the rest are railway 65 cases and waterway 380 cases.
The authorities also temporarily detained 12,251 vehicles of all kinds, revoked 3,615 driving licenses and deducted 2,724 points from driving licenses.
Of which, the number of cases of alcohol concentration violations was 9,264 cases (compared to the previous period, there were 2,994 cases reduced, down about 24.4%); 2,593 cases of speeding violations; 1,527 cases of overload violations; 6,190 cases of stopping and parking in violation of regulations... Notably, violations of running red lights have decreased by more than 40% (1,580 cases of violations), and the number of cases of not wearing helmets has decreased by nearly 46% (12,410 cases of violations)...
From January 15 to February 14 alone, the whole city of Hanoi handled 12,797 cases of traffic safety violations, temporarily detained 4,111 cases, revoked 483 driving licenses, and deducted 1,530 points from driving licenses.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department - Hanoi City Police said that in the coming time, they will focus forces and means to continue implementing solutions to ensure traffic safety and order, especially after Tet there will be many festivals, as well as many major political events in the country will take place in 2025.
