Restarting the Hung Vuong extended road project in Quang Tri

HƯNG THƠ |

Quang Tri - After a period of stagnation, the extended Hung Vuong road has started construction, expected to be completed in September 2025.

On February 23, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board - confirmed that on February 22, the Hung Vuong road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone (abbreviated as Hung Vuong Street extension) through Trieu Phong district was officially launched.

This project, including Hung Vuong and Bao Dai streets, is currently stuck in site clearance for 8 households, of which 7 households have not agreed on a compensation plan (on Bao Dai street).

The construction unit will focus on implementing the construction and completion of Hung Vuong Street in September 2025.

Hung Vuong extended road has a total length of nearly 4.2 km passing through Trieu Ai commune (Trieu Phong district) invested by the Department of Planning and Investment, entrusted to the Quang Tri Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The project has a total investment of 93 billion VND, signed a contract in December 2020, and implemented within 22 months. Therefore, Quang Tri has stopped cooperating with this contractor, found another qualified contractor and restarted the project.

The extended Hung Vuong Street is an extremely important traffic project of the province, connecting Dong Ha city with Trieu Phong district. Therefore, people are eagerly waiting for the road to be completed, so when they see the project behind schedule, they have repeatedly given their opinions.
