The road project connecting Thach Bich bridge to Tho Phong commune (Quang Ngai) has a total length of 6.11 km. Of which, the main route is more than 4.82 km long, the branch route is more than 1.29 km long. The total investment is more than 694 billion VND, the implementation period is from 2019 to 2025, with the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor.
After the project is completed, it will contribute to connecting traffic between localities in the area, facilitating people's travel, reducing traffic congestion on National Highway 1, especially the section from Truong Quang Trong ward to Tho Phong commune and VSIP Industrial Park; at the same time, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of localities...
The completion time frame is approaching, but so far only 61% of the total length of the route has been handed over; of which, the section passing through Truong Quang Trong ward has handed over 82% of the site, the section passing through Tho Phong commune has handed over 39.5% of the site.
The construction value up to now has reached 51.3% of the contract value. The project is facing difficulties in site clearance; in which, Truong Quang Trong ward is still stuck with 0.52 km of site clearance, Tho Phong commune is stuck with 1.85 km and 1 resettlement area has not completed site clearance.
According to the reporter's records, in Truong Quang Trong ward, right from the starting point connecting to National Highway 24B, the contractor has completed the road surface, painted lines and planted trees very methodically. However, after only about 300 meters, the road was suddenly blocked because of households that had not yet relocated.
From above, it is clear that the road has been planned for construction but there are still many houses that have not been cleared. The site clearance work in this section is almost "frozen". The construction site is deserted, with no construction workers.
Faced with this situation, yesterday, Mr. Nguyen Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - when inspecting the site, requested the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to focus on preparing and submitting for approval compensation, support and resettlement plans. In December 2025, all remaining compensation plans must be prepared, appraised, approved, compensation paid and land recovered in accordance with regulations.
