On November 23, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that they are developing a plan to build a overpass at Km50+800 (La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway, Da Nang City) to prevent the risk of landslides. This November, there will be a specific plan.
Along with that, from 5:00 a.m. on November 21 to 5:00 p.m. on December 5, passenger cars and trucks on 6 axes are prohibited from traveling through the La Son - Hoa Lien Expressway. The remaining vehicles are only allowed to travel from 5am to 5pm every day. This is a temporary measure to ensure safety when many points on the route are still at risk of landslides after many days of heavy rain.
According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the flood at the end of October 2025 caused severe damage to many sections of the North - South expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section. More than 5,000m3 of mud and soil have covered the road, 1,000 - 1,500m3 of silted rocks and over 1,000m3 of negative slopes have been eroded. The harsh terrain and saturated soil made the repair difficult.

In recent days, Hue and Da Nang have continued to have heavy rain, as a result of which small landslides continued to appear at Km42+700 - Km42+800. This phenomenon shows that the slope is still unstable, and a large slide can form at any time. Although the force and equipment are on duty 24/7, allowing vehicles to travel at night is considered unsafe.
Therefore, the two sections Km42+700 - Km42+800 and Km50+700 - Km50+800 continue to operate with only one lane, with a permanent regulating force from November 21 to December 5. After the monitoring phase, if safety conditions are confirmed, the route will be opened to 2 lanes and return to normal operation.
Recently, the Project Management Board has mobilized many leveling machines, straightening the flow to limit erosion, and reinforcing damaged points, some landslide bridge abutments have been basically handled.
