In mid-November, hundreds of engineers, workers and machines are busy constructing at the Km205 rest stop on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, passing through Ham Thuan Bac commune, Lam Dong province.
At this location, 2 rest stops on the right and left sides of the route are being constructed simultaneously. After more than 1 year of construction, the main items of the station such as the connecting road, restaurant service area, gas station, and operation center building have been formed.
Currently, investors and contractors are speeding up construction to complete the items, in time to put the project into operation by the end of 2025.
The construction unit said that the contractor is working overtime, organizing working day and night to complete essential items such as parking lots and gas stations. The electric vehicle battery charging area has also been formed, the contractor is urgently leveling the ground and pouring reinforced concrete.
Mr. Dinh Van Tinh - Specialist of Project Management Board 7 (in charge of the package) said that the contractor is urgently constructing the main items to soon put the project into operation, serving people and vehicles traveling on the expressway.
According to the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway Management Board, along with the rest stop being accelerated, the bidding packages for the construction of the Smart Traffic Monitoring System (TS) and vehicle load control on this expressway are also being rushed to complete to collect tolls in early 2026.
The expressway section through Lam Dong Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet province is over 100km long and has been open to traffic since May 2023.
The expressway is planned to have 2 locations as rest stops at Km205 and Km144. However, up to now, the rest stop at km144 has not yet fully handed over the site to the investor for construction.
