From April 26, the Department of Construction officially piloted the reorganization of traffic at the Tran Vy - Ho Tung Mau intersection (Nam Tu Liem district) to reduce congestion.
Accordingly, the new plan allows vehicles from Tran Vy Street to turn right continuously into Tung Mau Lake, then turn around at the median strip opening in front of Mai Dich cemetery (if they want to go to Le Duc Tho). At the same time, the traffic light phase has also been adjusted to suit the new direction of travel, optimizing traffic flow.
The pilot period is expected to last about 1 week, depending on actual developments. If the plan does not achieve the desired results, the functional unit will continue to research and propose alternative solutions.

On April 27, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that vehicles moved relatively smoothly.
If following the old traffic organization method, vehicles going from Tran Vy to Le Duc Tho or turning left to Ho Tung Mau may conflict with the flow of vehicles from Le Duc Tho going straight to Tran Vy and turning left to Ho Tung Mau.
According to Mr. Ha - a resident of the above area, the daily traffic volume on Tran Vy Street is not too large, so when the traffic is reorganized, it will not cause much impact.
"I see people still moving normally, maybe on weekends so it's not too crowded. Maybe in the early days, it will be a bit slow at the turn of the gate of Mai Dich Cemetery", Mr. Ha shared.

However, according to the reporter's records, the risk of conflict at this intersection is still present when many people do not comply with the sign sign sign.
Accordingly, there are signs prohibiting vehicles from turning left from Ho Tung Mau to Le Duc Tho and Ho Tung Mau to Tran Vy at the intersection. However, there are still many people who do not comply.
Recorded at around 8:00 p.m. on April 27, there were hundreds of vehicles violating the law.

Decree 168/2024/ND-CP stipulates that the fine for left/right turns at locations with no turning signs for motorbikes is 600,000 - 800,000 VND, for cars is from 2 - 3 million VND.
