National Highway 7 through Nghe An will have 81 billion VND for repairs in 2025

On September 24, responding to Nghe An voters about repairing National Highway 7, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) said it plans to allocate 81 billion VND for maintenance and repair in 2025.

This is the information given by the Ministry of Transport in its response to voters on September 24.

Accordingly, voters in Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts, Nghe An province, reported that the current status of National Highway 7 passing through the two districts has many narrow, degraded sections that obstruct visibility and pose a potential risk of traffic accidents.

Voters proposed upgrading and expanding National Highway 7 through Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts to meet people's traffic needs and ensure traffic safety.

Responding to this issue, the Ministry of Transport said that according to the road network planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 7 through Nghe An province is 225 km long, level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes.

Currently, the Ministry of Transport has been investing in a level III - IV scale, 2 - 4 lanes according to the plan, in which the section through Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts is about 108 km long, with a scale of 2 lanes.

Due to resource difficulties, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to allocate capital to invest in National Highway 7 passing through Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts in the 2021-2025 period.

The Ministry of Transport acknowledges the voters' recommendations. In the process of developing a medium-term public investment plan for the 2026-2030 period, based on the ability to balance resources and the principles of capital allocation according to regulations, the Ministry of Transport will consider reporting to the competent authority to invest in National Highway 7.

In the immediate future, to meet people's travel needs, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to repair a number of projects and fix damage to traffic infrastructure.

Regarding this content, the Ministry of Transport said that in 2022, 2023, 2024, the Ministry of Transport will assign about 114 billion VND to the Vietnam Road Administration, and in 2025, it is expected to continue to allocate about 81 billion VND for maintenance and repair, ensuring safe and convenient operation.
