Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi re-elected as Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association

Nghe An - The 8th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association elected Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi to continue to hold the position of Chairman of the Association.

On December 16, in Truong Vinh ward (Nghe An province), the 8th Congress of Delegates of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association, term 2025 - 2030, solemnly took place with more than 250 delegates, representing over 172,000 members of the province.

The Congress was attended by Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Major General Le Van Trung - Deputy Political Commissar of the 4th Military Region; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Nghia Hieu and leaders of departments and branches.

Over the past term, Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association at all levels has promoted the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and effectively implemented emulation movements. From 2022 to June 2025, the Association will build 345 "Skilled Mass Mobilization" models, introduce 2,574 new party members; participate in hundreds of social monitoring and criticism sessions. Members are responsible for 1,864 new rural construction projects, donating more than 332,000m2 of land, contributing hundreds of thousands of working days and tens of billions of VND.

The movement "Veteranes help each other reduce poverty, do good business" continues to spread with 617 economic models, creating jobs for nearly 70,000 workers; the rate of poor households has decreased, many temporary and dilapidated houses have been eliminated. The Association also actively participates in social security work, gratitude, and support for people in flooded areas.

At the Congress, Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung acknowledged and praised the results achieved by the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association; at the same time, oriented the key tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term, emphasizing the improvement of the quality of the movement, focusing on the grassroots, caring for and building a strong Association organization.

In his speech, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu suggested that the Provincial Veterans Association continue to promote its core role, participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, supervise and criticize society, and encourage pioneering members in patriotic emulation movements.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association, term VIII, consisting of 31 comrades and delegations to attend the National Congress. Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi was re-elected as Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association, term VIII.
