Participating in the Conference on introducing import-export mechanisms and policies combined with trade between Vietnam and China enterprises were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Finance of Lao Cai province (Vietnam); representatives of the Hong He Commercial Department (Vun Nam province, China); enterprises in the fields of investment, trade, import-export of Vietnam and China.
At the conference, representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and the Hong He Hong Commercial Institute (Van Nam province, China) introduced the potential, strengths and import-export policies, attracting investment from each side.
A representative of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province affirmed that the province is always consistent with the policy of creating a transparent and favorable legal environment, always attaching importance to China as the top important trade - investment partner.

Lao Cai province pays special attention to and has preferential policies in attracting investment, developing logistics infrastructure, external warehouses, prioritizing the development of cold warehouse systems right at the border gate area; creating favorable conditions for businesses of both sides in investing, cooperating, promoting trade and import-export between the two countries.
On the Hong Ha side, a representative of the Hong Ha River Trade Department said that the locality is implementing cross-border logistics reform and reforming the China - Vietnam cross-border road transport model to promote the export and import of goods.
Chau Hong Ha has open incentive policies, especially capital sources and support services to attract foreign investors.

At the conference, representatives of enterprises from both sides introduced their potential, strengths, products and proposed a number of investment incentives and cooperation mechanisms along the cross-border value chain.
At the same time, 16 pairs of cooperation agreements between Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises were signed, with a total contract value of about 330 million USD.

Within the framework of the 25th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) in 2025, on the afternoon of November 20, a meeting on economic - trade cooperation between Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Yunnan province (China) also took place.
Some results of implementing minute and cooperation agreement between Lao Cai province and Yunnan province for the period 2024 - 2025:
In the first 9 months of 2025, through priority channels, customs clearance procedures were resolved for 530,000 tons of agricultural products exported from Lao Cai to Van Nam and customs clearance procedures were resolved for 869,000 tons of agricultural products exported from Van Nam to Lao Cai.
Every day, about 500 freight vehicles pass through the Lao Cai - Ha Khau International Road Border Gate.
The two sides discussed and signed a memorandum of understanding on the official opening of the Muong Khuong - Kieu Dau bilateral border gate and a memorandum of understanding on the opening of the Ban Vuoc - Ba Sai customs clearance under the Lao Cai - Ha Khau International Road Border Gate pair.
The road bridge project across the Red River in the Bat Xat (Vietnam) - Ba Sai (China) area was officially started on March 31, 2025, expected to be completed in September 2026.
In June 2025, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting the construction of the Lao Cai - Yunnan Border Economic Cooperation Zone.
